SUN Magnetics (Pty) Ltd was incorporated in 2015 as a spin-off company from Stellenbosch University to provide integrated circuit parameter extraction and layout verification solutions to the superconductor and quantum electronics industries.

Our first commercial product, InductEx, was instrumental in enabling the development of new logic families such as Adiabatic Quantum Flux Parametron circuits and analogue sensors such as magnetometers and gradiometers based on SQUIDs. The development of InductEx has been supported financially in part by the South African National Research Foundation, grant numbers 69006, 78789 and 93586, with additions developed under contracts W911NF14-C-0089 and W911NF-17-1-0120 with the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA).

Our customers include big players in quantum computer and superconductor supercomputer development.
